1-27-2015. An amazing piece of work to say the least. Yes, it's a modern day rendition, but it's worth to have it installed. I've had Part 1 since last year on my modern day FSX install, so Part 2 is a welcome addition and I can't wait for Part 3. This is payware quality at freeware prices with high quality BMP's, excellent effects (crashing waves and ambience ( airport apron/seagull sounds ) which just adds to the overall feel of the scenery.

Hawaiian Airports Part 1: This scenery features accurate recreations of the airports at PHMK Molokai, PHNY Lanai City, PHHN Hana, PHLU Kalaupapa, and JHM Mauai West. All runways, aprons, taxiways and buildings have been repositioned to their correct locations, and include custom textures based on real photographs. The new hanger has been added to Hana and also the new fire stations at Lanai and Molokai. The scenery features effects, sound, many animated objects including people, flags, animals, waves, cars, trucks and many more. Full night textures with light maps are included.
The scenery also includes representative, and real interisland traffic schedules, and the HAL ATR is sporting the new OHana livery.
All the scenery files have been sub-divided so they can be switched on or off according to user preference. It has been designed for, and tested in DX9 and FSXA only.
HIGHLIGHTS: Each airport has been recreated from real world photos and accurately re-positioned to their correct locations. Hana is home to Maui Hang Gliders so I have included a traffic file which has the default trike doing touch-and-go's at 1000 1200 1400 and 1600. Lanai City includes the new apron extension and Fire Station. Kaulapapa airport features wave effects and more realistic landclass has been added, based on satellite imagery. Molokai Terminal has been remodelled and the tower includes a full 360 degree panoramic view. The somewhat stark FSX runways aprons and taxiways have been painted with a more "lived-in" texture. Many of the buildings have interiors with transparent windows and you can park your aircraft in the hangers.
Hawaiian Airports Part 2: This scenery features the airports at PHJR John Rodgers Field, PHBK Barking Sands, NPS Ford Island and PHNG Kaneohe Bay. All runways, aprons, taxiways and buildings have been repositioned to their correct locations, and include custom textures based on photographs of the real airports. The scenery features many animated objects including people, aircraft, animals, waves, cars, trucks and many more. Full night textures with light maps are included.
All the scenery files have been sub-divided so they can be switched on or off according to user preference. It has been designed for, and tested in DX9 and FSXA only. The airports include sloped flattens so they can also be used with high density mesh. These airports have long runways and can easily cater for the 'heavies', PHJR now acts as a backup to the main airort at PHNL Honolulu. Runway 04 at PHNG is a real challenge, and requires a 90 degree turn under the mountains.
HIGHLIGHTS: Each airport has been recreated from real world photos and accurately re-positioned to their correct locations. John Rodgers Field now features scheduled inter island commuter traffic which is included. I have also taken the liberty to fly the now static F4 and A4s. In reality, Ford Island no longer functions as an airport so I have taken the liberty to bring it back to life once again. Although mostly used by rotorcraft, barking Sands still has a fully functional runway. Kaneohe is home to the venerable P3 Orion, so I have included some AI traffic.
The AI Aircraft start flying at 0900 hours local time, they fly between the airports and also the other islands. Where possible they will also perform touch-n-gos. The somewhat stark FSX runways aprons and taxiways have been painted with a more "lived-in" texture. Many of the buildings have interiors with transparent windows and you can park your aircraft in the hangars.
